The Cob O' Coal was a large old three storey pub in the middle of the ancoats estate.
When i approaced this pub i thought it was closed as most of the windows were boarded up but to my surprise the pub was open and the inside was in a pretty dire state aswell,the landlord said there had been a big fight the previous night.
I had a drink in the bar which was fairly basic,there may have been other rooms but i did'nt look.
This pub was a Whitbread tied house and it still had its Chesters signs outside,there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Chesters bitter and this was a decnt drink the other beer was Chesters mild.
This pub may still be standing and i am not sure if it is open or closed at the moment.
