Will Larter left this review about Kings Arms Hotel
A surprisingly pub-like hotel on the market square, a lot more traditional than the Skiddaw Hotel next door, with a proper public bar and a separate dining room, which is down some steps. (As are the male toilets, while the female versions are upstairs; I didn't see one for those unable to manage the stairs.) There's a fake fire, but otherwise the place has an authentic feel to it; pictures of rock climbing and sheep farming adorn the walls. There was background music, but thankfully, as I noted at the time, it was not Christmassy. The bar has six hand pumps, with the Old Rosie pump clip turned around. Beers were all from the Marstons range, with just two of them Jennings. I had the Ringwood XXXX Porter, which was very good.
