A good looking pub on the road through the village, stone built but with the end walls painted white which helps the pub sign to stand out. There are two rooms: the bar on the left where dogs are allowed, with a snug of sorts behind; and the lounge on the right where they're not. I would normally go where there are guaranteed to be no dogs, but there were also no people in there, so I stayed in the left hand side. There's some very good traditional bench seating, and a big fireplace and a solid fuel stove. There are many beams prominently displayed, though it's not clear if any are structural rather than decorative. This is a pleasant, friendly locals pub and my pint of Three Tuns Best Bitter was very good (NBSS 3.5) and cost £3.80; XXX Pale was also available.

Near to the long lost station and the River Tanat. Well into Powys, Wales but with a confusing English address.
