Ian Mapp left this review about Pissarros
My digs for the night - room was smart enough but my god, the traffic doesnt half race along this road. Popped in for a nightcap after exploring the towns GBG pubs.
Very pleased with the quality of the beer - a Long Man Best Bitter as good as I ever had it.
Live music was on - so there was no point going to bed just yet.... an enjoyable evening sat outside in the summer heat.

Pissaros advertises itself as a jazz, soul and blues bar, but during my visit there was low reggae music playing – which was no bad thing. Flanked by seating is a U shaped bar that faces a raised seating area that sits in the ‘wedge’ of this corner pub. I imagine that this seating is removed during weekend evenings when this bar hosts live music. Music is certainly high on the agenda as the LP’s stuck to the ceiling and various flyers would suggest. There is no TV for live sports or gaming machines etc.
Behind the bar is a separate dining area that is housed in the Town House B&B. I didn’t see any menus, but I did note that the all-day breakfast was priced at £6. The bar supports premium draught products and three hand pumps that were drawing Wadworth’s Henry’s Original IPA, Long Man Brewery’s Long Blonde and St Austell Brewery’s Cornish Best.
I’m not a big live music fan and the café seating outside is not the most relaxing being half in the road on a road junction. Therefore I do not plan to rush back.
