Rex Rattus left this review about Halfway House
There was no real ale here, no handpumps on the bar counter offering the prospect of any, no children under 14 years of age allowed in, and no dogs allowed. There was no decor on the walls, except for a couple of noticeboards with various restriction posted on them (no kids or dogs), as well as signs saying that there is a £10 entrance fee for live football matches, and that soft drinks will cost £2.50 a pop during live sporting events. There’s a pool table and dartboard on the right, and furnishings are red upholstered banquettes with standard rectangular tables and small stools.
It’s all a bit scruffy and unkempt in here. But, on the plus side the barman did take the trouble to pull through the Kronenbourg to ensure that it was in tip top condition. But I still don’t think I’ll be paying a return visit.
