I followed the CAMRA book of Peak District Pub Walks to find this place, nearly 2 hours up some steep hills and across fields from Cromford. It's an end of terrace cottage with 5 rooms for overnight accommodation.
The first room inside was a cosy compact lounge with red carpet and upholstery, wooden beams on the ceiling, wooden panels, a small stone fireplace with a stove and a slightly out of place looking modern flat screen TV. 3 handpulls were on the small serving hatch/bar in this room offering Copper Dragon Golden Pippin, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Whim Hartington IPA.
Walking through the pub (ducking low doorways) there was a snug sized area with an open fire, grandfather clock and 2 sofas(no children or dogs available in this room) leading through to a dining area with pews at the tables. Right next to the 'fire room' was the bar area with 2 more real ale handpulls offering Buxton SPA (Special Pale Ale) and Everard's Tiger. The bar had tiled floor at the standing area and the remainder had the same red carpet as the lounge. Walls were either wooden panelled or stone.
The service was friendly and the pub was welcoming. It has a car park which seems a much better option next time than walking across country! I would happily visit again.

The Jug & Glass Lea is a real gem hidden away in the Derbyshire Hills, a ramblers' paradise, brimming with character, continuity of fine food and great ale. The Jug Men (morrismen) are gaining a strong reputation or their dancing and there's always plenty of entertainment. Newly created Skittles Alley has added to the fun!
