Will Larter left this review about Kinlochewe Hotel
The bar, with its own entrance to the left of the main hotel, has a sign standing on the pavement outside: Beinn Eighe Bar. Once through the plain door there is a large room with the bar counter in the left corner. It was quite busy when I arrived mid-afternoon on a Monday, but as some of the people I met at the bar pointed out, there had been too much rain to continue fishing so they'd called a halt. I had similar motivation for stopping cycling, but I still had 10 miles or more to my destination, so mine was only a temporary halt.
On the bar were six hand pumps, one of which had no pump clip. The one in the far corner was too difficult for me to read or photograph, but the others can be seen amongst my photos posted here. I had a half of the Strathcarron Red Cow, which is a very well made beer and was in splendid condition (this is Camra's Highlands & Islands Pub of the Year 2017). The barman was very friendly as were the customers, though he will be there at other times and I would guess they will not. (He did mention that there was a quieter room if I wanted to get away from the slightly noisy crowd around the bar!) This would be a great place to stop for a night or two, and pretty good for just refreshment.
