Peter Forster left this review about Ryde Castle Hotel
A mock Tudor/Gothic building dating from 1834, the Castle became a hotel in 1930. In March 2012 it was gutted by a fire, started by fireworks being set off on the roof at a wedding reception. Remarkably it was completely rebuilt and reopened in October 2013 as part of the Greene King Old English Inn Group. The Castle is very much a hotel and restaurant but the bar is open to the public and not an unpleasant place to have a drink. The choice of beers is limited. When I visited there were no real ales or craft beers, just the usual Greene King fizz range. The bar is part of the main dining area and has a very modern feel to it, which is at odds with the external appearance of the building and how it used to be. Bar staff are not particularly chatty or welcoming, as you would expect in such a place. I visit for nostalgic reasons - it was my family’s go to choice for a Sunday lunch treat, two or three times a year back in the 1970s. I can’t really recommend it now as a pub unless you want a meal, mixed group meet-up etc in which case it is a reasonable choice. Not to be confused with the Castle PH in the High Street.

Graham Coombs left this review about Ryde Castle Hotel
Small hotel on Ryde seafront, but a bit dumbed down by the pictorial Greene King food offers strung about making it look more like a family dining place. The castellated building is quite impressive and there is a large tabled patio area to the front, but the interior is tediously corporate and a bit gloomy. Function suite for weddings etc. Ales still IPA, Abbot and Old Speckled Hen and condition seemed fair.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ryde Castle Hotel
Old English Inns hotel, bar and restaurant with a fully castellated façade. Upmarket, semi-modern style in the various seating / dining areas, with mostly high tables around the bar. Extensive front patio beer garden. As the place is owned by Greene King, it is no surprise to find IPA, Old Speckled Hen (£3.44) and Abbot from three of four handpumps.
