A Marston's two-For-One roadside pub which does B&B. There is a small carpark with its own one-way system, from which you enter the pub through a grotty paved garden area with tables, benches and piles of litter. There is a large covered smoking area at the back in an extension by what is now the main door, which leads to the single bar/dining area which is on two or three levels and loosely divided by the seating arrangement. At one end, the lower end, is a carvery area where breakfast is also served, while the rest of the bar has tables for eating and drinking, plus a couple of comfy chairs. There are gaming machines and a small table football table, though these were not enough to entertain the loud, hyperactive young child that was running around while its mother enjoyed her lunch. The staff's patience was tested by this, though they remained admirably calm and polite. Ales on were Saddle Tank and Old Empire, both in excellent condition. Worth dropping in for a pint while passing.
