Old Boots left this review about The Gabbro Bar (Broadford Hotel)
Nothing has changed in the years since Will's review, things move slowly on Skye, the hand pump looks even more forlorn as it's permanently clipless now.

Will Larter left this review about The Gabbro Bar (Broadford Hotel)
The Gabbro bar is a bit of an afterthought, tacked on to the left and rear of the main hotel. Numerous pillars show where there used to be walls holding up the end of the building, and the remainder of the room is clearly a modern extension, though there is a "snug" seating area near the bar that looks as though it has been excavated from the foundations. Walls are a mixture of wood panelling and stone throughout.
There's a modest wide-screen TV with some leather sofas in front, and a higher bench and table near the bar for watching football matches. A stone fireplace has a solid fuel stove for those colder evenings. At the far end there's a pool table - I haven't seen a Scottish country hotel yet without a pool table.
On the bar there are the usual Scottish fonts and one very lonely looking hand pump, serving Orkney Dark Island which was priced at £3.25 a pint.
