Blackthorn _ left this review about Elbow Room
A long established and trendy bar on Park Street, clearly aimed at the younger end of the market. There were a couple of large pool tables at the back, a couple of plasmas on the wall at the front, and several large speakers around, although fortunately the volume was at a reasonable level on a recent Tuesday evening visit.
There are some windows at the front which fold right back and this is a plenty enough spot to sit at the high tables and watch the world go by, except that you get accosted by beggars wandering past. Further back are several leather seats formed in to semi-circles along each wall. Two of these were occupied by couples who couldn’t seem to keep their hands off each other, which was a little off putting. The black wooden flooring contrasted with the gold mesh panels on the ceiling.
Bar staff were friendly enough, and there is apparently live music every Monday. Prices seemed a bit step at over a fiver for a pint and a small Coke. Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, just keg John Smith’s. The solitary cider was Scrumpy Jack.
