A biggish white above, grey/ green plague below painted old building, I was fooled by the front door, the entrance is at the left hand side or at the rear from the large garden / car park. Inside it’s a T shape with the counter in the down stroke, low seating in the cross bar. The first thing I noticed was a large shiny Red Stripe fount, loosely the shape of a European ceramic one but in stainless steel and protected by a dinky little fence - mad. There are three normal hand pumps but just Adnams Ghost Ship on which I swerved, it looked too much of a gamble. These were dwarfed by the tall, fat, brass T-Bars with a mix of the usual dross plus Budvar in light and dark, Murphy’s and one I missed the name of, a Beavertown duo with the usual daft handles stood at one end and a Cruzcampo solo was also trying hard to be seen. The furniture is metal based in the main including some scaffolding based tables, there are sensible options in so far as low sofas are sensible. There is little decor apart from fairy lights and when I was in the screens were showing corporate stuff. Toilets at the back are labelled “Sexy Beast” and “Foxy Lady” - oh dear. So it’s an old pub ruthlessly modernised, not going to suit everyone and its likely those who like it will soon get bored and move on, not a new story but a frequent one.

The last stop before my train and pub number ten on the day. Quinno sums it up in his review pretty well.
I was past risking cask beers that I didn't particularly like anyway, Adnams Lighthouse in this case, and went straight for a Neck Oil, at least you know what you're going to get. It was fairly busy but not anywhere I'd choose to return to.

Large pub that has been forcibly modernised via what could have been a TV show, it has that tacky feel, though the peacock mural lands on the side of tasteful. Large, if somewhat scraggy, beer garden out back. One cask, Adnams Ghost Ship, which was a musty mess (NBSS 1.5).

Went in for a pre-curry drink, a pint of Crafty Flanker. I won't be going again. The music was louder than at some rock concerts I have been to. TV screens, obviously put in to catch the football crowd, showing some music station which was different to the music being blasted out from the sound system. It didn't really matter as the sound was off on the TVs!
After 20 minutes of shouting to my partner we left.
Oh very expensive too.
