Graham Coombs left this review about Brewhouse & Kitchen
A small and historic hotel taken over and thoroughly refurbished by the Brewhouse & Kitchen group in their usual trendy style. The brewery section (and its aroma) greets you at the front door, then there are several separate rooms extending off around the long bar in the centre. A bank of handpumps and numerous counter and wall keg fonts feature a variety of their own brews and guests; these can be a bit hit and miss but there is probably something for most people's tastes. Sampling boards are available. Outside is extensively tabled and there are some beach huts which can be reserved. There are "boutique" bedrooms upstairs and a function room downstairs with its own bar. Various brewing and tasting sessions can be arranged, while the food is excellent. The staff are perhaps a bit hipsterish but incredibly friendly and enthusiastic with it. Overall, a nice place to visit.

Strongers . left this review about Beechwood Hall
Beechwood Hall is more hotel like than pub like and during my visit last Saturday night there was a wedding party drinking the place dry. I felt quite uncomfortable and ended up finishing my drink off outside at one of the picnic tables found on the lawn. Standard draught was available and two hand pumps were unused leaving Harveys Best as the ale option.
I’ll give this place the swerve next time I’m in town.
