Large pub seemingly mainly aimed at diners. Opposite Thornhill Crematorium with large car park out the front. On left hand side looking out, a lounge type area called y Cwtch. Main bar area with a mixture of seating. Restaurant is then over to right hand side up a short flight of steps and was really busy. Huge fruit machine on corner of main bar area that was a looking presence over the relatively low ceiling bar. Seating area out the front popular this evening.
Fairly standard keg range with four lagers (Carlsberg, Moretti, Cruz and Peroni), two ciders (both Strongbow, the regular one and a dark fruits version that was very popular, with every punter seemingly buying during my short wait to get to front of queue with a solitary somewhat hassled young bar attendant). Neck Oil and Guinness completed the keg options. On hand pump were Marstons Pedigree and Brains SA Gold. I opted for the latter and a much better pint than the one I attempted to close off yesterday evening with.
Attended a wake recently in one of the hotels the other side of the crematorium a bit further up Thornhill Rd that lacked and atmosphere. This place must do a bit of a trade in that respect and to be fair it is a very pleasant venue - celebrating the dead or celebrating living. A bit down on beer range and a bit more family orientated compared to the Pendragon last night.
