This pub was originally called the Old Wine Vaults,it later dropped the Old Wine and became the vaults.
Once inside there was an oblong shaped room to the front which was pretty basic,there was one more room which was down a few steps.
The pub used to be an Ansells tied house with keg beers on the bar.
On our last visit here the the pub was wetter inside that outside with rain pouring through the ceiling.
This was one of Ilkestons poorer pub,it is now sadly looking in a derelict state.
