E TA left this review about The Well Inn
A roadside inn once known as Cannard's Grave, more recently Canard's Well and now just The Well Inn. B&B is still on offer. The well in question in inside the pub, now a circular hole in the middle of the dining room floor, covered in glass so you can walk over it. The entrance is through the car park at the side and a pleasant paved outside seating area by the main door. Walking from the own side can be hazardous due to there being no decent footpath, so care is needed as the building abuts the road at one point. Inside the long bar and dining room have been conjoined. By the entrance is a seating area with sofas and a large TV screen, while the rest of the area is less cosy, consisting primarily of tables for diners. Food is basic pub food, though they also offer breakfasts most mornings. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and dogs are allowed in. There were 2 ales on, Bath Gem and Cotleigh IPA, both in very good condition. A pretty good place to break a journey, maybe a good B&B opportunity, but doesn't have a local feel to it.
