The Borough used to be a Shipstones tied house with a really nice drink of Shipstones bitter and mild on the bar.
The pub used to have two rooms and we visited this pub on most weekends while doing our regular crawl round some of Ilkestons pubs.
Once inside the pub has now been opened out into a single room with a small area up a few stpes to the right, this area has a few tall tables and chairs and a darts board, the main room is oblong shaped with a small bar to the rear left, there is comfy bench seating around the edge of the room and chairs, there is a TV to the front which was showing music videos.
There are two unused pumps on the bar,the keg bitter option was Wm Youngers best which was a pretty poor drink, the other keg bitter was Worthington cream crap.
This is a very basic pub that was almost empty on my Late Saturday afternoon visit.
Probably best visited on an evening when its a bit more livly, but the lack of real ale will put me off from coming here again.
Pub first visited 1980
