The great unwashed had mobbed the entrance to Down-Town during a recent late Monday afternoon visit so I had to enter the pub sideways through the fag chuffing door blockers. An L-shaped serving counter can be found in the left rear corner were standard and premium keg were available from the barmaid who I think may have never smiled, in her whole life. All the seating around the bar was taken by people who looked like talkers, so I remained at the counter, which was great because I got to see one of the locals shout and vigorously gyrate when his bank card worked in the card payment machine. The outside of the pub actually looks inviting, but the laminate floor and grey brick patterned wallpaper throughout do little to keep up the charade. A man was playing some tunes from behind the DJ booth on the right-hand wall and there was an odd sweet smell that may or may not have been Methadone. I don’t plan on returning.
