Recently reopened 17th Century pub with the bar side on the left as you enter and the lounge area on the right. The pub looked well kept and had three ceramic pulls in white and blue in an oriental design. Two handpumps in use serving Wainwright and Theakston Best Bitter.
We called in on a Friday evening and the place was empty, apart from one annoying customer at the bar, the local plonker. I ordered a half of Theakston as we had been on a crawl all day and the young manager, who had zero people skills, started pouring a pint. He had a right face on him when I pulled him up. He then cleared off, whilst his partner sat on a shelved area on the left of the bar staring into a phone, great hospitality there. The beer also had a musty smell off it, so I couldn't wait to escape back across the road to the Old Cell.
