Graham Coombs left this review about The Mitre Hotel

A smart boutique hotel opposite Hampton Court Palace which has an extensive bar and restaurant area on the riverbank with its own entrance. Upstairs is the Boathouse wine bar and downstairs is the 1665 Brasserie, both quite posh with smart furnishings and splendid river views. There are also several Terraces either side, including covered and heated areas with their own bars open at busy times and various suites and rooms including the Orangery available for functions. Note that not everything will be open at quiet times. They now have a handpumped house ale: Six Wives, believed to come from Southsea Brewery, but again it is not always available. It's all very swish and priced accordingly. Not really for casual drinkers (unless you are looking for a posh wine bar or a pricey riverside terrace on a nice day).

The bar attached to this hotel is called the Rivers Edge. It doesn't sell real ale. It does food all day and tables are bookable. The dining area overlooks the river. It has a garden/patio which can be reached from the river as it has it's own jetty, although care must be taken as the jetty is fixed and is liable to flooding at high tide.
