Will Larter left this review about Crown & Cushion
I would call this a typical suburban dining pub, with the original pub layout having been stripped out and an extension added to the front, giving as much space as one of those retail park venues that Marstons and GK build from scratch. The more traditional-looking bar counter in dark wood has three hand pumps, with a surprising John Smith's Cask in between Abbeydale Moonshine and a guest from Chantry. I thought this one had been discontinued some years ago, and I thought the condition was a bit off, though the mouthfeel was fine. On chatting with the landlord - who was up a ladder doing something potentially dangerous - he confirmed that he's actually serving a keg beer through the hand pump.

The Crown and Cushion is situated just up the road from the Wharncliffe Arms.
Once inside there was one largish room with the bar facing, the room had a stone floor with bench seating and small stools, there was a small dining area to the right which was carpeted.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of John Smiths cask and this was a very nice drink, the other beers were John Smiths Magnet and GK Abbot.
This was quite a smart pub that had a nice laid back atmosphere to it,i was quite happy having a drink in here.
