E TA left this review about Falgate Inn
A 19th Century village pub, very much a local’s haunt, on the outskirts of the village and reached via a hazardous route along a road with little by way of footpath. There is a somewhat dilapidated air about it, though it is busy and serves as a good community local. Outsiders, on the other hand, especially those with only five digits on each hand, are regarded with a certain amount of suspicion. There is a main public bar with darts, and there are trophies and memorabilia for their Darts Club which dates back to 1976. There is a separate carpeted dining room. Food is the standard pub grub, cheap and cheerful. Ales on were GK IPA, Abbott, Bo66y and Trawlerbuoys, none of it that well kept. We concluded that ‘Falgate’ is the local dialect for ‘Slaughtered Lamb, and I wouldn’t want to come here alone or after dark.
