A very pleasant red brick town pub dating from the mid 18th Century. On entry there is a small, square bar to the left, with wooden furniture and a woodburner in an open fireplace, the walls adorned with various rural bric-a-brac. To the right is a larger dining room with a brick hearth at the end. Food is home-cooked and very good value. The barman had a good sense of humour and was welcoming. There were 2 ales on, Ringwood Best Bitter and Downton Quadhop, both in perfect condition. Well worth a visit and a good place to spend an evening.
