Strongers . left this review about Kingfisher
After a recent refurbishment, the Kingfisher now has wood laminate flooring throughout. The steps at the entrance lead up to a row of high tables that run across the front faced by the bar along the rear wall. In between is standing room and a single small step that is a perfect trip hazard. Along the right wall is some seating and three steps in the right rear lead up to a pool and dart area. The televisions found throughout were playing music from Magic FM. A very limited standard keg range was available, the Fosters was priced at a very cheeky £2.50 for a half. The service was very friendly, but this place is uninteresting and geared towards the late night weekend trade, so not for me.

Large multi-tiered flea pit - carpet worn to the quick, red and cream shades, basic rear garden. Pool and darts to rear and a number of TVs showing football. Literally nothing of interest at the bar, so half a Guinness it was. ‘Unusual’ locals but the ferocious-looking barman was actually quite friendly. I guess it's mainly a late night/sports venue as I can’t see who it would appeal to outside of those times.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Kingfisher
The Kingfisher is situated at the top end of the high street.
Once inside you have to go up a few steps to get into the room, the room is decent sized and square shaped, the bar is to the rear, there is a bench seat which faces the bar, plus more bench seating to the right, there is a DJ booth to the front right, the bar is up one step,no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of John Smiths smooth crap which lived up to its name.
There is a pool table to the rear right in a small seperate area, background music was playing and horse racing was on the TV.
This is quite a sad pub, probably best left for those who like cold fizzy beers.
