This pub was rebranded as Pub Lotus on 15th December 1970 with the opening screened live on Wheelbase and included the likes of Colin Chapman, Sterling Moss and Bobby Moore in attendance. Décor included F1 cars in the garden and drivers' paraphernalia on shelves with tables made in part from their car steering wheels; chairs were bucket seats from the Europa road car.
It closed as such in 1979, name reverting back only to close in 1992 and become a Greek restaurant. Date of first visit was in October of that year and of course nothing obvious remains of the pub, but it could have been quite spectacular and spacious in its day.
Wine is now the order of the day.
