Not much to add from previous reviews, albeit we were primarily here for the carvery. Sharp's Doom Bar and 'carbon neutral cask' Black Sheep Respire which was in decent shape albeit needed a top-up. There's a fair bar area to your left on entry with standard TV tuned into BBC News plus iffy subtitles.

Seemingly in aspic, which I quite like. They'd run out of cask though just before Xmas.

Classic Toby outlet with all the corporate chintz (Carry On pics etc). Nonetheless serves a couple of ales (Pride and 6X usually) for prices that compare to Wetherspoons and people do go in there just to drink them. Quality is usually OK.

Not necessarily worth seeking out, but if you want something to eat it's not a bad spot and there is a few decent real ales on tap, opposite Maxims Casino, and near the Holiday Inn, on a nice sunny day it is worth the walk along the river nearby.
