Alan Winfield left this review about The Abbey
The Abbey looked fully functional when i tried to do it twice while on my pub crawl round Redditch,it looks like they locked the doors and left it.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Abbey
Uninviting pub in a parade of relatively modern buildings with a small patio area out front. However, the 'L'-shaped bar is larger than one might expect, although the mix of semi-modern furniture and decor is sadly as dull as anticipated. Live football on a number of screens, and that probably draws in much of its trade. On the plus side, three of four handpumps were operational, with Pride, Prescott Track Record (£2.35) and Old Rosie cider on offer.

Delboy 20 left this review about The Academy
The Academy is now called The Abbey and has been for about Three years according to the barman. It is right next door to the Spoons and seems to offer similar meal deals etc... A couple of ales on during my visit.
