Blackthorn _ left this review about Amoeba Lounge Bar
This is very much more a cocktail bar rather than your traditional pub, but does nonetheless have a chilled out vibe and does not seem quite as pretentious as many such establishments of a similar genre. It seems a popular spot, and was full to capacity on a recent Friday evening visit.
Despite looking quite tiny from the outside, it’s surprisingly spacious one you’re in, extending to three different levels as well as a courtyard garden. The front, street level bar houses a few tables and chairs and a few steps lead up to a small area that has bar counter and a glass partition looking back down towards the front of the pub. Downstairs is considerably more spacious, extending out to the courtyard at the rear and off to another room at the right.
The paintwork is a mix of cream and a fairly dark red colour, and this extended to the blinds that hung above the large windows covering most of the front of the pub. Bar staff were efficient enough, although some acknowledgement whilst we were waiting would have been good.
Unfortunately there were no ales on tap, real or otherwise, and no ciders either, just a couple of lagers whose names I didn’t recognise. A chalkboard next to the bar listed several beers available by the bottle, including a couple from Bath Ales.
