Alan Winfield left this review about Plough Inn

The Plough is a large 30s built pub situated in the boothen area of Stoke.
I dont like the look of these pubs and always expect the worse when going in.
I went in the pub from the right side as this was the only entrance open, this took me into a corridor with the bar to the left at the front of the pub and a lounge to the right,i ordered my drink in the bar which was packed with Stoke city fans, this room was carpeted and had a pool table to the left, there was a long bench seat and small stools.
I eneded up in the quieter lounge to the rear, this room had a bar and the area near the bar was set aside for drinkers with the rear having tables laid out for diners, this area was empty.
There was only one real ale on the bar which was Pedigree and this was on special offer on match days at £1.50 a pint,i had a half at 80p,everbody seemed to be drinking Pedigree but it seemed not as good as i had in other pubs.
Not really my sort of pub,it was a quick half then onto the next pub.
