As others have noted before this could've been anything from a picture house, theatre or dance hall in times long gone. Now its basically a sports bar with approximately 473 tellies and a big screen. 2 handpumps on the bar serving Copper Dragon and a beer called Slightly Foxy I think. Its cheap and cheerful and probably has 2 very differing clientele of an afternoon to what they get of an evening.

Roxy Venue looks like an old cinema or theatre.
I was looking forward to doing this one with a name like Roxy Venue.
Once inside there is a large square shaped room with the bar on the left side, the seating is normal tables and chairs in the middle area and bench seating on the right side, the room is carpeted, there are loads of TVs around the room and one very large one to the rear, all showing sky sports.
There is a separate room to the front left which has three pool tables in it.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Slightly Foxed Slightly Foxed which was quite a nice well kept beer and also quite cheap, the other beer was Copper Dragon Golden Pippin.
Decent background music was playing and cheap food is available.
The pub was just starting to fill up just after 12 and there were plenty of staff arriving,so they must get fairly busy.
I was happy enough having a quick drink here.

This is a very strange place. It looks like a small workingmans club, but it's a bar complete with pool table. At weekend nights it's transformed into a club. There are loads of TV screens on just about every spare bit of wall. There's also a DJ rig in the corner and lots of lighting, no doubt for its club life. It's full of very basic seating and it does very cheap food deals most days. There were 2 handpumps on the bar and I had a beer called Katies Blonde from Owenshaw Mill brewery. It was just about OK. The price was very cheap though. They're due a small JDW in Sowerby at the Wharf. When that opens I think it will be the death knell for this place in its current form.
