The Davy Lamp is a largish pub that used to be a working mens club.
This pub is well away from the middle of Ilkeston, once inside this pub is very smart with carpets throughout and lots of tables and comfortable chairs, one end of the room is more like a lounge and the other has two pool tables and there is a stage where live groups play.
I was in here on a dinner time visit and the pub was almost empty, there were no real ales on the bar and the only bitters were Mansfield keg and John Smiths extra smooth cold flow so i had a Guinness which was very nice.
This is a decent comfortable pub that is let down as there are no real ales available here.
Revisited the pub today.
Still the same inside, but there was a very nice drink of Harvest Pale on the bar, live rugby England v Argentina and football score updates on two different TVs.
