Best Western hotel bar which is open to the public, though you’d do well to find it as it’s hidden well-away in the bowels of the interior, a conversion of a 17th century farmhouse. Low (fake?) beamed interior with some large tub settles which in fairness is done well. A low-pitched battle was underway between Kenny G and the TV football, later joined by a family row between mother and twild. Two ales - Doom Bar and Timothy Taylor Landlord, the latter of which was in excellent nick and given I had a rollicking hangover, was all the more impressive. Sadly Desmond’s lemonade was dire. So a mixed bag, but better than the usual low standards for this sort of joint.

Though its a hotel the Stables Bar is pleasant. Lots of areas to relax in including beer garden and courtyard. 2 real ales on. Both were from Titanic Brewery at the time. I liked it.

This is mainly an hotel but there is also a public bar that is well furished and there was one real ale on here this was Bass and this was a decent drink.
There are a few picnic tables in the courtyard at the front for outside drinking.
