E TA left this review about Sweet Home Inn
The Sweet Home is a large Victorian town pub, currently owned by Hall and Woodhouse, in a pleasant residential area. It shares a car par with the Co-op next door, and there is a small outside seating area. The ground floor has been knocked through to form a single L-shaped bar which is carpeted and decorated in a fairly neutral style, while a late Victorian tiled fireplace provides warmth and a bit of character. The end of the L is used as a restaurant and can cater for children. The remainder is served by a single bar counter with an enormous drinks cabinet behind it. There is a dartboard and free WiFi. The food was basic pub grub, but well presented and reasonably priced. The barman was very welcoming, while the locals were friendly and helpful. There were three handpumps on the bar but only one ale – First Call – available. The beer was in good condition, well kept and slipped done very easily. Well worth dropping in for a pleasant pint or a good value-for-money lunch.
