Home of the Dunham Massey brewery - nice leaflet on the tables explaining the drinks choice.
Micro pub, with outside sheltered seating in a pretty square full of quirky independent outlets.
As you would expect, the Stamford Best Bitter was in perfect condition.

Costello’s is a single room bar with seating out the front on Goose Green square. It was surprisingly busy with an after work crowd of around twenty in attendance during my visit late on Wednesday afternoon. A few stools line the right hand wall bar that faces open plan seating consisting of standard and high tables. There is no television, but there was some background music playing.
There is a limited premium keg range and I counted seven handpumps. These were drawing Dunham Massey Brewing’s Big Tree, Landlady, Castle Hill, Milk Stout and Stout alongside Lymm’s Heritage Trail Ale and Dam. I found the service to be very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed meaning that I would return here if back in the area.

I like it in Costello's. A good selection of the Dunham beers available on cask. Mixed seating. Friendly service.

Tucked away down Goose Green, this is a modern style single room bar with a light wood floor, mixed seating at cream and brown upholstered chairs, sofas and high stools. There are a few framed photos of old Alty, otherwise decor is fairly minimalist. The pub however rises to prominence by being the sole direct outlet for the local Dunham Massey beers, and is named after the brewery founder and head brewer, John Costello.
Eight handpumps showcase the micro brewery beers, Bay Tree Bitter, Cheshire IPA, Obelisk, Dunham Light, D Gold, D Stout, Stamford Bitter, Altrincham Pilsner, being the choice on Saturday lunch. A good selection of the brewery's bottles are available to take away.
Very popular on Saturday lunchtime particularly with the fans of local Altrincham FC. a good spot for an eclectic range of locally brewed beer. There are a few outdoor tables facing the square outside.
