Will Larter left this review about The Grouse Inn
An isolated dining pub, with the main rooms enjoying views over the valley and hills if it's not raining and if anyone is using them, neither of which conditions applied at the time of my Tuesday afternoon visit. The sole member of staff temporarily abandoned her late lunch to serve me a couple of halves from the six hand pumps: five Timothy Taylor's and one from Bridgehouse; the latter was not very good (NBSS 2.5, £4.50/pint), while the Boltmaker was ok (NBSS 3, £5/pint). I commiserated on a foul and empty day, but apparently there was a funeral party due later, so the respite was welcome (no disrespect intended, obviously). As well as the large dining rooms there's a small public bar, which I assume is part of the original building. I enjoyed the walk here from Oakworth, battling in the face if blustery showers, but I can't imagine ever doing it again.
