Nice enough coaching inn which we found half way along a way from Baslow and up over the edges. Nice enough inside with log burner and collection of newspapers. Slightly shocked to get on £1.75p change from a tenner for a pint of cider and a bakewell best. Seems rather OTT on the pricing.

A long, isolated roadside pub in the woods below Froggatt Edge on the A625 (Sheffield to Bakewell road). Formerly owned by Wards Brewery in Sheffield, it has been spruced up inside with modern wood panelling, and exposed stone on some internal walls and around the fireplace. There is a garden and a sheltered patio for smokers. Three hand pumps on the bar were serving local ales: Peak Ales Bakewell Best Bitter, Bradfield Farmers Bitter and Kelham Island Easy Rider. The beers, like the pub, are pleasant enough but perhaps lacking a little in character.
