Alan Winfield left this review about Royal Crown
When i first went in this pub it was called The Royal Crown Derby and was an Ind Coope tied house.
This pub was reopened quite a few years back,i took a photo of the pub in the mid 90s when the pub looked in a sorry state,it is nice to see an estate pub revived.
Once inside the pub now has a large single room with a large bar in the middle left area, this bar used to serve two separate rooms.
The room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and a pool table to the front left, loud music was playing during my late Saturday afternoon visit, there are large flags on the walls with chaddesden dcfc on them.
To my surprise there were three pumps on the bar with two unclipped,i had a drink of Hobgoblin which was a really nice well kept beer.
This is a big derby county pub which does'nt sit well with me,so it was good fortune that i was not in my Nottinghan Forest sports shirt.
Very nice to see a proper estate pub reopened and up and running.
