Lonely moorland pub outside the village, it's quite small inside although there is a large dining room at one end. The bar itself is L shaped with 5 handpumps on one counter face and three on the other, they serve quite a selection of well kept beers from macro to microbreweries, I tried beers from Ossett and Mallinsons and both were superb, the pub is in the Good Beer Guide (2011). Walls in tongue and groove with the usual old photos, the beams are decorated with horse brasses and a tress of hops, there is a stuffed fox in one corner and the furniture is an eclectic mix. Pretty much everything a fine moorland pub should be.
