From the CAMRA National Inventory bulletin Jan 18 - "The application to convert this fine Edwardian pub to residential use (reported in our November bulletin) has, unsurprisingly, been approved. Nobody wanted to run it as a pub (in quite an awkward location) and, sad though this outcome is, the intention to keep much of the impressive bar fittings is something to be welcomed"

A very good Holts pub. It has about 5 rooms so its a bit like the Crystal Maze. That said all the rooms are traditional in style. I liked this pub and though there was only the usual Holts beer that are to be found on this Patricroft to Eccles crawl its a proper pub.

Another very neat Holts's pub bulit in 1904, that doesn't look like it's changed much since. Has 2 entrances, one to each main room. There's a good looking lounge through one entrance and the other is to the tap room where there's a dartboard. There's another small room on the lounge side that has a pool table. There's the usual Holts green tiling throughout the pub. They must have bought a job lot of these in about 1900. My half of Holts Bitter was £1.10 and was in good nick. I'd happily call in here again.

The Royal Oak is an old looking corner pub that was situated next to the completly different looking Golden Lion.
Once inside the pub had a few different rooms and we had a drink in the bar which was a nice room to have a drink in.
The pub is a Joseph Holt tied house and there were two real ales on the bar, we had a drink of Holts bitter and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Holts mild.
We quite enjoyed our time in this pub.
