Strongers . left this review about Coppa Club (Great House Hotel)
Coppa Club is open plan with a large central L-shaped serving counter that supports Peroni, Jubel and a craft keg range, although on entering late on a recent midweek afternoon if felt more like a cafe, with a strong smell of coffee and the small number of customers in the bar area working on their computers. More people were in the restaurant area at the rear that backs onto a conservatory where I was sat for some nice, but expensive fish and chips. Out the back is a large beer garden with heated pods, a small bar and barbeque, and access to the River Thames at the very rear. This area would certainly be a major draw in the summer months. I ate here because I couldn’t wait the hour for the Bull Inn kitchen to open, but once I’d finished my meal, I returned to the Bull which I think says it all.

The Great House has been vaporized and this modish open-plan space is simply unrecognisable. Two ales, Loddon Ferrymans (dire) and Hoppit. Rugby on the telly and upper middle-class Minnies posing on the soft furnishings. Whilst it’s good to see it operate more as a bar, the cellaring needs sorting out ASAP before all their ale-drinking customers die of enhanced gut-rot.

Making a bit more of an effort with the beer, advertising two cheap(!) Rebellion ales plus Doom Bar. Your mission is to actually find someone at the bar to serve you.

A big old hotel, which has a rambling timber-beamed bar (check at reception to see if it's actually serving though, it keeps odd hours). It serves a fair pint of Loddon (either Hoppit or Ferrymans Gold; used to London Pride) for £3.80. There's a very large and impressive beer garden to the rear which backs onto the Thames footpath. No real reason to head for here when you've got the Bull in the village but if you're on a riverside wander it may be worth having a look if you're feeling rich.
