Blue Scrumpy left this review about Kings Head

Situated in open countryside, I approached this pub after darkness, but the sheer amount of fairylights in the garden soon directed me to it.

This pub is split into 3 sections. The main bar area is central, with a small room off to the left and an area with a pool table (and I think I saw a dartboard) off to the right. The bar area featured lots of horse brasses on the beams.

All areas are seemingly used by drinkers and diners alike. Dogs & children are welcome. The atmosphere was quite lively with music playing in the background. Service was good and at the bar, there was a choice of 4 cask ales. The regulars were Ludlow Gold & Wye Valley HPA & Butty Bach. However, I chose one I hadn't seen before - Wye Valley Butty Bach Reserve, which was a much stronger version of Butty Bach and was very enjoyable. A 5th handpull was unclipped, whilst Greene King Level Head & Wye Valley Nightjar were amongst the keg options. Ciders were Robinson's Flagon & Weston's Stowford Press.

I thought this was a popular and welcoming roadside pub that caters well for both drinkers and diners. Worth stopping if you're passing by on the A44.
