Interesting pub - the party place in the village. But that comes with caveats.
External, a touch of the New Orleans about it - with a balcony front.
Inside, huge open plan. Outside, a nice garden complete with a number of "pods" hosted in stable like buildings.
Robinsons Cumbria Way was in fine condition.
There was a singer on - all quiet sedate until the half time break. In the 2nd half, a group of women in purchased fancy dress fashioned a make shift dancefloor, making it impossible to move around the pub but creating an atmospehere.
With this in full swing, the management then came around the pub at just before 10 and asked to take last orders.
10 minutes later, the lights went on, the mic was unplugged and everyone was out.
I dont think I have ever seen the chosen closure of a party before last orders before!
I wasn't bothered, I could get back to my room in the Sun for MOTD :-)

A Robinsons pub which also sells Hartleys beers, which the company now brews. As with the Crown and the Sun, their main idea of competing for trade is to play music as loud as they can. Fortunately there are places to sit outside and (just as fortunate) the August weather was not so bad as to make this a less comfortable option than blocking my ears.
