Alan Winfield left this review about The Olympic
The Olympic is the first you see if coming from Long Eaton, the pub is situated quite close to the large parry's mill.
This pub used to be an Ansells tied house with some pretty ropey beers on the bar back in the early 80s.
Once inside the pub still has two seperate rooms, the smart looking lounge is to the left, this room is carpeted with a bench seat on one wall and normal tables and chairs, the seperate bar is to the right, this room has a pool table in it.
Sky sports and live bands are advertised, but i did'nt see them on my Friday dinner visit.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Brakspear Oxford Gold which went down well, the other beers were Jennings Cumberland and Doom Bar.
This pub is a lot smarter and comfortable than the last time i visited it,it also does food.
