A pleasant cafe/bar wedged between the canal and River Colne,there is an attractive front patio gently layered,while inside the stone single story building there is initially an alcove with bench seating,then the main bar with surrounding coffee tables and a side drinking shelf before a charming ,thin outside balcony overlooking the river.A bit twee but welcoming.Cakes on the bar,lots of coffee taken by some punters and light lunches by others but drinkers are not forgotten or outlawed,there are some standard kegs and a single handpump drawing Milltown Platinum Gold (NBSS 3.5).
Closed on Mondays,our Wednesday afternoon visit for a quick one was well rewarded.Not a session type place ,the Commercial over the road is more your market for that.

A wine bar/restaurant, which has Milltown Brewery Platinum Blonde on handpump. This bar consists of a small porch area entrance with the loos to the right and the main bar and dining area entrance to the left. The interior is modern in style, with a red brick bar front and polished pine counter. Walls are finished with a purple colour paint and the floors are tiled. The rear of the bar has large timber framed windows along the canal side. The staff in here were friendly and adequate space opposite the bar gave non-diners the option to pop in for a drink. Definitely worth a visit, as their Platinum Blonde was good and you can't go wrong at £3 a pint.
