Alan Winfield left this review about The Castle Inn
When i first went in this pub it was called the Moira Arms and was an Ansells tied house,on a visit in the late 90s it was a tatty pub with Bass on the bar.
The pub has now been renamed to the Castle Inn and had a nice makeover inside, the bar faces on entry in a narrow area, there was a real fire on the go to the left where there is some bench seating and normal tables and chairs, the right side of the room looked more like a dining area, the rear left area is up two steps where there is an open kitchen with a pizza oven, there are tall tables and chairs here.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Charnwood Turtle Bay,which was a very nice drink, the other real ales were Charnwood Vixen,Castle Rock Harvest Pale,Sharps Atlantic and Bombardier.
The pub is now very smart inside and also comfortable and warm on a cold day.
A big transformation from the old Moira Arms.
