E TA left this review about The Eagle Tavern
The Eagle is a recently refurbished and re-opened village pub which was taken off the beaten track by the closure of the slip road from the A420. The bar is open and airy, well decorated and comfortable. The staff are friendly and welcoming albeit a little inexperienced (and lacking in English skills in one case). It's mainly used by locals and has a real community spirit, welcoming families and being dog-friendly. It also does B&B (with four AA stars) and serves restaurant-style food (although I didn't eat on this occasion). It's a GK pub, and there were two ales on. I had a pint of St Edmunds which was very well kept and refreshing. Worth finding if you're near Farringdon and want a quiet pint in rural surroundings, and I would include in a country crawl.
