David Ross left this review about The Arrochar Hotel
I shouldn’t have been overly surprised to find that this place had changed radically since my last visit, as that was 30 years ago. Then, it had a rather rowdy public bar with a loud juke box and was popular with bikers. This, unfortunately, has now been incorporated into a huge dining room. The bar area is now in the hotel foyer, adjacent to reception. On the night I went in, it had been almost entirely taken over by a coach party of elderly English people and the entertainment was provided by Highland dancers. It was a very different atmosphere from the 1980 bikers shouting along to “Born To Be Wild.” It’s still an attractive building outside, with a beautiful setting, but inside, sadly, it’s just another boring hotel lounge.
