Blue Scrumpy left this review about Hare & Hounds
A village pub with a cosy feel which was doing a good trade in Sunday lunches when we paid it a visit.
A modern entrance leads to a dining room on the left and a traditional bar to the right, with low beamed ceilings. There is also a small snug down some steps almost directly in front of you as you enter. Many of the tables in the bar (and presumably in the dining room) had reservations on them but we soon found a table that was not due to be occupied for a while. Background music was playing. Both children and dogs are allowed in.
I initially thought that there were just the 3 cask ales but later found that the regular beer (Bowness Bay Swan Blonde) had its own handpull on the opposite side of the bar. The 3 guests were Gan Yam Hay, Kirkby Lonsdale Crafty Mild & Lancaster Kaleidoscope. SALT Alpacalypse was on keg and the cider was Aspall's.
Staff all seemed friendly and welcoming and accommodation is available. Despite being in a minority as a drinker (probably just the time of day), I still felt quite at home here.
