The powers that be have decided to replace the Three Fish sign with a Beefeater sign, I didn’t think this place could get any more generic. There were a few diners present during a recent Wednesday evening visit, many of whom were trades staying in the adjacent Premier Inn. A curved bar counter stretches across the rear wall where standard keg is available alongside Moretti and Sharp’s Doom Bar which is badged on both hand pumps. To the left there is some bar seating with a couple of televisions that were airing muted Sky News, but most of the open plan pub is for dining. I didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food, but as somewhere to have a drink it was very boring. A walk into town is a must if staying here.

Large recently built Beefeater on Mere Park Buisness Park on the outskirts of Newport , its all very generic in here , to the right of the entrance is the main dining area with diner style back to back seating , to the left is the more bar like area with comfy seating and a few high stools and tables and a large tv showing news 24 . There is a large outside patio to the front and a decking area to the side .
Beers are the usual keg taps and two handpulls with Pedigree and a deecent Hobgoblin , service was friendly .
Its a typical Beefeater so you know what to expect .
