I liked the internal layout with an authentic public bar which had a pool table to the right of the entrance and a seperate lounge where diners gather for the keenly priced pub grub to the left. There is also a large play garden behind the car park for children to burn off some energy.
I enjoyed a very well kept pint of Bass, and the Ped also looked in good condition. The most convivial of the pubs in Willington.

A traditional pub in the pleasant canalside village of Willington.
There are two rooms: bar with pool table and television showing BBC News 24 on our visit and a more comfortable lounge area used for both food and drinking.
We didn't eat but the menu was standard pub grub and looked good and substantial and even on a Monday evening many were partaking.
Three handpumps with Pedigree, Jennings Cumberland and Bass, which was in very good shape and flew down. All enhanced by an attractive and efficient archetypal young barmaid.
I'd be happy to return.
